Helen's debut Sunnyside Records CD Sungbird (after Albeniz) was selected by New York Times writer Ben Ratliff as one of his Playlist "Recommended Listens"! The celebration continues with recent performances at the Kennedy Center's 2008 Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival (read the JazzTimes review!), the 2008 Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, the Samsung "Experience Jazz" series, and two concerts at the Vermont Mozart Jazz Festival. Stay tuned...rumor has it there's a new album in the works!
As it's said, good news travels, and with recent performances in such places as Atlanta, DC, Philly, Houston, and Rochester ("Exodus to Jazz" series), and of course the New York City area, Helen may be coming to a venue near you! Keep up with her itinerary »
